3 Times People Implemented Custom USB Drives for Maximum Impact

Custom USB drives serve as excellent promotional items for advertising brands, products or services. In addition to being durable, attractive and affordable, the extreme usefulness and versatility of USB drives means that they remain an item that customers will keep and utilize.

Here are a few examples of ways that custom USB drives have helped artists and businesses to create and share their products.

Chelsea Wolfe launches custom USB drive bundled with short movie

Chelsea Wolfe is an acclaimed American singer-songwriter whose music incorporates elements of gothic and folk music. You might recognize her from the Game of Thrones season 4 soundtrack, which features a song from her album Pain is Beauty.

In 2014, Wolfe worked with director Mark Pellington (who has also worked with musicians like Pearl Jam, U2, Bruce Springsteen and Kings of Leon) on a 52-minute film called Lone.

Wolfe released the video through her merchandise shop preloaded onto custom USB drives, each complete with engravings and a wood finish (and an extra 4GB of storage).

Nuclear Throne releases game via custom USB drive for limited edition collector’s box

Earlier this year, successful top-down action video game Nuclear Throne released a limited edition collector’s box through the monthly subscription service IndieBox.

Instead of including a more flimsy USB card, the collector’s edition was packaged on a custom USB drive.

The drive was housed within a rubber chicken, and opening a seam in the chicken’s beak revealed the USB plug.

Home & Family’s DIY wedding invitations implement custom video messages

When the Hallmark Channel’s Debbie Matenopoulos and Paige Hemmis created custom wedding invitations for their television show Home & Family, they took the invitations into the 21st century with custom USB drives complete with custom video messages.

Matenopoulos and Hemmis turned a cork USB drive into a “message in a bottle” by inserting it into a glass bottle, then packaged the drive in a decorative box and included it with a matching invitation.
